About the Club
We left the porch light on for you.
The Porchlight Club is a women-only club for real friendship after 55. Letters, hobby rooms, and classes - built so the first women here find each other, not an empty room.
Why we built it
Making a real friend after 55 got quiet and hard.
We'd rather be plain about it: The Porchlight Club is brand new. We don't have thousands of members, and we don't have glowing quotes to show you - because we're not going to invent any. This is a place built around not being deceived, and that has to start with us.
Almost nobody has built somewhere decent for women who want a real friend after 55. So we did. We're opening in small groups, on purpose, so that the first women here find each other instead of an empty room.
If you join now, you're not a customer. You're one of the first, and you'll shape what this becomes.

What we hope it becomes
Not a feed you check. A week with something in it - the same faces, turning up again and again, until they are the people you tell things to. A letter waiting in the afternoon. A room where somebody notices when you've gone quiet. That's the whole idea, and we're excited for anyone who wants to be part of it.
Real women, real connections
This isn't a directory of strangers to scroll. It's letters that go back and forth, rooms with the same faces, and classes where by the third week nobody has to introduce herself. We are sending ladies to have actual friendships - the kind that take root slowly, through showing up again and again.
Women only, 55 and over
Every member confirms she is a woman 55 or older when she joins. We take you at your word, and we remove anyone who isn't here in good faith. No men, no romance, no pressure - nothing here is dating-shaped, so nothing here carries that particular worry.
Human pace, on purpose
Letters move at the speed of a second cup of coffee. You write when you have something to say. Nobody is counting, and nobody is refreshing a feed. The slowness is the feature, not the bug.
Your dues do real work
Membership pays our teachers, keeps the site running, and lets us keep it small enough to stay kind. You are not the product here - your dues are.
Whoever you are, we're glad you're here.
If you've been wanting a new friend and wondering whether that's allowed at this age - it is. It's the whole reason we built this. Come write your first letter this week. The porch light is on.
